Each year BLD holds a Forum for Business to come together to consider issues for the future prosperity of the region. This year Thinker in Residence Laura Lee looked at the importance of design for an economy and a community and began a discussion for the development of a good design process for strategic decision. The Forum considered issues across the wider region including District Council of Mallala, Town of Gawler, Light Regional Council and Barossa Council. Special thanks to Forum sponsors: Zen Home Energy Systems, Seppeltsfield Winery, Ahrens Construct & Design, Beckwith Park and event partner SA Works in the regions.
We enjoyed great Seppeltsfield hospitality and fabulous food by Barossa Farm Produce. Nuriootpa High hospitality students helped out on the day, and did a fantastic job. Great to see the next generation of hospitality workers coming from our local schools. Particularly thanks to BLD staff who did a fantastic job to put the Forum together in a short period of time and to all those who came, contributed so energetically to the discussion and who will be called upon to continue to build the framework that will see good design embedded in this region.
The Barossa & Light Regional Development Board through its Business & Workforce Centre and the Workforce Development Network are together seeking to ensure the economic future of local businesses by assisting employers to attract and retain skilled workers and support the growth and sustainability of local businesses within the region.
The Hon Paul Holloway is pleased to announce the release of the Government's Small Business Statement. The statement reinforces the importance the government places on Small Business in this state, not only for its contribution to the economy, or to the state's productive capacity, but for the invaluable role they place in building and supporting communities around the state.

Barossa & Light Regional Development Board (BLD) is the result of a partnership between The Barossa Council, Light Regional Council and the State Government of SA.
Through BLD, the development of our region is firmly in the hands of local communities. With BLD as its vehicle, Local & State Governments can allocate assistance and funds through a representative, well-structured and recognised community consultative organisation.
